Get your child seen faster with GP video appointments
It’s worrying when your child is unwell. That’s why we’ve introduced video appointments for children aged 2-17 so they can be seen faster, and get the care they need sooner.
Requirements for child appointments
Legal parent or guardian
Our clinicians will carry out checks to ensure the child or young person is in the safe company of a legal parent/guardian.
NHS record access
The adult will be asked for consent to share the child or young person’s NHS record when booking an appointment for the first time.
Both registered with the same GP practice
Sometimes our clinicians will need to see the parent/guardian’s medical record too, so both the adult and child must be registered at the same GP practice.
Any appointments made for children below the age of two will be referred to a face-to-face appointment.
ID checks for adult and child
Our clinicians will carry out an ID check on both the adult and child, in line with NHS England’s standards on ID verification. Adults must show a form of photographic ID, while for children this can be a passport, birth certificate or by answering specific questions about the child’s medical history.
